Harm的用法

harm可用作动词，有伤害，损害，危害等含义，通常用作及物动词；用作名词时，有损害，伤害，危害等含义。

一.用作名词，表示损害，伤害

Excessive drinking will do you harm.

过量饮酒对身体有害。

He means no harm by saying what he thinks, but people tend to be upset by it.

他想到什么就说什么,并无恶意,但人们听了心里总是不舒服。

Everyone should learn to indemnify oneself against harm.

每个人都应当学会使自身不受伤害。

二.用作动词，表示伤害，损害

Hot water will harm the plants.

热水会伤害花草。

Never do anything to harm the interests of the people.

决不能损害人民的利益。

Smoking harms our health.

吸烟有害健康。

There was a fire in our street, but no one was harmed.
