除了古迹之外，祖父母家也有着我对家乡的眷恋与怀念，藏匿在市街闹坊中的一间老屋，就是我童年记忆开始的所在地，那是一间外表朴实却十分坚固的老房子，记忆中这间老房子里的灯光一直是淡黄昏暗的，祖父老爱在客厅里跷脚听着心爱的广播节目，而祖母总是在厨房里忙进忙出，张罗着三餐。我印象中最深刻的事是我在门前的街道学骑自行车，那辆小自行车是叔叔送给我的礼物，我非常喜欢它，想要骑着它四处炫耀，于是我央求祖父教我骑，刚开始时，我老是跌倒，一直失败，受到很大的挫折。

当我正想放弃时，多亏有祖父的鼓励与帮助，我才能继续下去，在一个月后，我终于成功的骑了一次、一次，又一次，约莫一个星期的时间，我已经可以骑着我最喜爱的自行车逛遍所有的街道，往来穿梭于每条小路上了，我常常在凉爽的夏日傍晚，骑着自行车到处闲晃，一直到我疲累为止，这时牵着自行车进祖父母家的车棚，总会闻到一阵阵的饭菜香从屋里传出来，那香味让疲累不堪的我感到特别的饿，也因此吃的特别的多，祖父常笑我长的又高又壮的身材跟骑自行车有关，而我很幼小就会骑自行车的这件事也一直是祖父的骄傲。
