基础太差怎么写雅思大作文

在雅思写作中大家要注意以下几点:

1、不要总以有生命的名词和人称代词开头【不要受汉语表达习惯的影响以 to use I, People and We,等开头】。

2、千篇一律的使用主动语态容易给人不好的感觉。

3、要注意使用书面语体的句子,而不是一些口语意味较重的句子【如,因为,所以】。

4、不要过分依赖动词,学会用动词名词化来表达。

5、要学会用否定句子表达肯定的意思,而不是总用肯定句来表达。

6、要恰当的使用排比句和平行句。

如何突破雅思7分瓶颈

点:词汇升级

词汇升级包括升级词汇的广度和深度。其中前者较好理解,简单地说就是词汇量越大越好,特别是在写作中需要表达同样或者相似意思的时候,如果能够做到多变不重复,那肯定会给阅卷者留下深刻的印象。比如"重要的/主要的/必要的"这个意思,几乎每篇雅思作文中都需要用到,一个important用到底和crucial,paramount,indispensable换着用的差异性是显而易见的。

而所说的深度,引用雅思官方评分标准中的原话就是"use less common lexical items"。记住,"大白菜"词汇只能拿到"大白菜"分数。赶紧用sub-standard替换poor-quality, source替换reason,typically替换usually。另外,词汇的灵活运用也是深度的一种体现。比如表达"科技给我们带来好处",既可以说Technology brings us benefits。 也可以说Technology benefits us。 还可以说We benefit from technology。 又可以说Technology is beneficial to us。 而We are the beneficiaries of technology。 也是一种表达。benefit这个词的灵活运用充分体现了对词汇的理解和运用能力。

线:句型升级

研究发现,在雅思写作的句型方面,一直存在一个误区,就是很多考生认为句型越复杂越长越好。其实不然,姑且撇开写又长又复杂的句子很容易出错不说,单是从语言的流畅性和阅卷者思路的延续性角度来看,这样的表达很可能不但不能给文章加分,反而会弄巧成拙,由于冗长不地道而被扣分。这里句型升级是指句型的变化以及对地道句型表达的模仿和借鉴。比如在探讨现代家庭关系疏远话题的文章中,一种表达是So it is not surprising that they do not feel close to their families。

另一种表达是Little wonder, then, that they feel alienated from their families。 毋庸置疑,后一种表达更能吸引考官的眼球。这种句型上的变化从何而来,并非主观臆想,而是通过大量阅读和模仿原版英文材料的写作手法而来。对于雅思考生来说,如果时间有限,资源有限,那么剑桥系列中写作部分的考官范文和阅读部分的文章就是最好的材料了。

比如剑6 P168考官范文的开头:Over the last half century the pace of change in the life of human beings has increased beyond our wildest expectations。 This has been driven by technological and scientific breakthroughs that are changing the whole way we view the world on an almost daily basis。 模仿借鉴类似的句型结构运用到考生自己的作文中去,阅卷的考官怎么可能会不认同呢?

面:内容升级

雅思7分的文章,并非要求考生所写的内容标新立异,独树一帜,只要言之有理、言之有物即可,这是由雅思这种标准化考试的类型所决定的。但并不是说,雅思作文内容就不重要了,而是考官会更关注内容的相关性和内容展开的逻辑性。有些考生很有想法,一写文章就洋洋洒洒一大片,这是好事,但是雅思这种考场作文在时间和字数上的限制决定了考生必须写和话题以及个人观点有最直接关系的内容,不然就会出现偏题或者论证重点不够突出等现象。

另一方面,在论证过程中,前因后果得明确点明,同时运用举例、对比、反证等多种论证方法充分证实观点和主题。因此建议考生,在广泛阅读英文材料和优秀范文,积累写作素材的同时,有机会最好也能阅读国外关于大学论文写作的原版书籍资料,了解欧美人士的文章内容构架习惯和常用的论证手段,毕竟雅思作文实际上就是国外大学论文的缩小版,高屋建瓴定会游刃有余。

雅思写作下定义在议论文中的用途

【一】 引言段中的应用

1. Globalization

Globalization—the international spread of products, ideas and information—is bringing the world closer together. But globalization is not a new concept. For thousands of years,nations have roamed the earth in search of new markets and new sources of raw materials for their own industries。

关于“全球化”这个名词,考生并不陌生,但是如何用合理的语言来赋予它一个含义,这并非易事,上述的引言段就很好地做到了这一点,先是从字面上诠释了“全球化”的定义,进而又从实际生活角度赋予了它另外一层含义。

2. Telephone/Mobile phone

Imagine using smoking signals,carrier pigeons or riders on horseback to send an important message. Although those methods may sound strange,years ago people used them to communicate. Today,all a person has to do is pick up a telephone/mobile phone。

对于电话这一现代通讯工具,地球人都知道它是干嘛的,不过呢,我们可以从对于电话功能的定义上做文章,同样也可以赋予它一个生动的含义,并且一下子可以吸引读者眼球。

3. Studying abroad

Every year,students around the world leave behind the comforts of home to pursue a study-abroad experience in a foreign country. While many would say that studying abroad is advantageous,some would argue otherwise。

出国留学同样是一个非常熟悉的话题,若直接用字典上的定义直接去解释它显然多此一举,因此,我们不妨从侧面突破,通过引入大量学生出国留学的事实和目的来诠释这个再也不能熟悉的话题,同样可以起到很不错的效果。

4. Success

As Thomas Edison once said,“If you wish to succeed,you should use persistence as your good friend, experience as your reference,prudence as your brother and hope as your sentry. ”This essay is going to look at factors that constitute success。

“如果你希望成功,当以恒心为良友、以经验为参谋、以谨慎为兄弟、以希望为哨兵。”这是伟大的美国发明家爱迪生曾经说过的一句话,借助名人名言来下定义又是一种非常有效的开头方式,这样做一方面揭示了文章接下来的主题,另一方面也增强了说服力,可谓是一举两得。

【二】 主体段中的应用

1. Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake,regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. What,in your opinion,should be the main function of a university? 【剑七Test 4】

以下是此题目一篇范文的第2个主体段:

这个段落的论述的中心是大学以传授知识本身为目的,作者使用了“通才教育”这个在西方国家非常流行的教育方式为佐证,在给出“通才教育”定义的本身,又用定语从句补充到了和题目第2个论点间的关系,从而进行了有力的对比,深化了段落中心。

2. Education

When people leave school,they wish they could breathe a sign of relief and leave learning behind. However,learning should last a lifetime. You exercise your body to stay strong,and you should exercise your mind to stay sharp. ……

在这个关于教育的话题中,作者在论述时用终身教育的好处来诠释教育的长期性和必要性,从而为下文的扩展作了很好的铺垫和过渡。

3. School should teach children academic subjects which will be beneficial to their future careers. Therefore,other subjects such as music and sports are not important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?【08年5月22日A类考题】

Academic subjects,such as reading and writing,play a vital role in the education system. Apart from activating creativity and imagination,it helps students lay a solid foundation of knowledge. Some might say that academic subject is to a student as a rifle is to a soldier,without which he is unable to fulfill his mission……

在这个主体段中,作者在开头便举出了一些学术课程的具体内容,从而给读者一个概念,同时也展现了作者对题目的解读能力。接下来我们再来看一个相似的用法:

4. Why have not alternative energies already replaced fossil fuels?

There are also problems with production stability. The amount of energy we need varies throughout the day,and conventional energy production,such as coal and oil,can be increased or decreased based on these variations. Alternatives like wind and solar power are limited because they can only produce electricity when it is sunny or the wind is blowing。

在这篇分析型大作文里,作者通过对化石燃料和可替代燃料的对比,突出了前者的优点,也揭示了后者的不足。通过将一个名词范围中的具体例子举出,是下定义的另外一种诠释。

综上所述,下定义可用于议论文的开头或者主体段里,但是它一般不适用于用在结尾段中。除了字典上的定义外,建议考生还可以从这个名词或短语的功能、目的、包含的具体例子等方面赋予它含义,这些方式都属于下定义。
