I went to visit Ireland 【…or say a different country/ city name…】 after the completion of my first semester. This would probably be the May, 2012 and as I recall it was around 2 weeks’ visit. I went to visit 【…say a village or urban area name…】, a friend’s house and in this area there was a gigantic house 【more specifically a castle】 that caught my eyes.

I heard that my friend’s father had a good connection that would allow us to visit this castle. I went inside the house and walked from floor to floor and it took me more than 4 hours.

This was a 200 years’ old castle and I saw a real castle for the first time in my life during this visit. This was a great and different experience. I have read about these castles and even saw them in the movies; but witnessing the castle was something totally different. The castle was built with stones and the area was more than 2 acres. The castle was surrounded by thin lakes and it had well defense systems. Though there was no soldier or guard for war or defense, yet it took me to the feudal age and the history revealed itself in front of me.

The impression of this castle in me will last for a long time. The height of the castle, the shiny stones, stairs, cryptic rooms, large gates gave a total strange and different view than any other modern buildings I have seen. As this was my first visit to any real castle, I was mesmerized. I have never witnessed anything like this before. I liked the architectural design, height, history related to this, gigantic buildings, defense system, open area, thin lake, the cryptic rooms and war equipments of this castle.

I want to live in a big house with great views, so a house near a river or a park would be perfect.

A soft king size bed is on my must-have list, because after a long day’s work, I really need a good rest on the comfy bed. And a walk-in closet with tons of clothes and accessories is every girl’s dream, I’m sure.

And also, the spacious bathroom must be equipped with a Jacuzzi, so every night before I go to bed, I can enjoy a relaxing bubble bath and release all of my pressure.

As a foodie, there has to be a variety of cookers in my kitchen. And a big oven is necessary ‘cause I like to bake my own cakes. Cooking is my favorite pastime, and I find it quite soothing. Making all kinds of dessert is my forte. Plus, I can invite my friends over and cook for them. That would be nice.

The entertainment facilities in my living room must be state of the art, like the fancy home theater and the Xbox, that way my guests would never feel bored because there’s so much to do in the house.

I’m also a dog person, so I’d like a room for my pet dog. I know puppies can be a little naughty, and they always make a mess, so a room of their own is a must.

In my spare time, I’m really into growing some plants and flowers, so a roomy sunlit balcony would be perfect for my hobby.

And as for the location, my house should be situated in the city center, because it would be convenient to get around and I’ll have easy access to all the public facilities. But the only downside is, the housing price might be a little high, so I might not able to afford it until I am 30 years old.

Can you describe your house/flat?

In the bedrooms there is really nothing special, but only beds. However, in my parents’ room there is another TV and in mine, a desktop computer, because, you see, I have to work on my computer everyday.

What do you think of the area in which you live?

It is a great neighborhood with great environment and facilities. People are friendly; small parks are everywhere; and there are also sports facilities free to use. I like the place where I live.

I am not very satisfied with the area in which I live. The major reason is it is too densely populated. There are not enough parking lots. It is always hard to get one. When it comes to the public facilities, you won’t have a chance to lay your hands on it, for they are always being used by others.

How long have you lived there?

I’ve lived there for 4 years. It’s been a great living experience: great neighborhood, great people, and great facilities.
