One of the best shopping experiences that I can remember was about three years ago when Christmas was coming. I happened to be in the US, taking part in an exchange program. In the past I never celebrated the Christmas Day. But being in a foreign country, I suddenly felt like to spend this holiday with new friends I met here. So I bought a tree and then I went to Rich’s, a department store to buy some exquisite ornaments for the tree.

The saleslady was a middle-aged woman. She was very patient. At first I didn’t know what to buy. There were so many exquisite ornaments that I didn’t know what to choose. She asked me how big the tree was and gave me many great suggestions. We had a nice talk. When I finally got things done, she took the time to carefully wrap each ornament I bought, about 25 or 30, separately in several layers of tissue paper. I didn’t ask her to do it but once I realized what she was doing, it occurred to me how thoughtful it was and I thanked her. She told me that she treats her customers the way she likes to be treated. I appreciated her thoughtfulness and the whole shopping experience was quite pleasant.

She often reminds me to read more books rather than spend lots of time on playingand studying.

这本书最大的特点是简短。通过捕捉一个自然景观来表达泰戈尔在日常生活中的感悟，思考。泰戈尔很擅长描写自然界里的动物和植物，通过细致的描写表现自由和活力。这本书是奶奶带我去书店买的。她常常提醒我多看看书，而不是花很多时间在游戏和学习上。

At that time, I didn't understand why grandmasentthis book to me. However, when I opened the Tagore's Stray Birds, I was deeply attracted by the poems. Ok, well I’m quite lucky in the fact that I’ve received money as a gift on quite a number of occasions, so it was kind of difficult deciding on which one to talk about. And so in the end I thought it would be easiest just to tell you about the most recent occasion, which was my last birthday.

And the money that was given to me was from my grandparents, which is what they often tend to do for my birthday, because they said to me that it’s probably best that I choose something for myself which I know I’ll like, instead of them choosing something which I might have no interest in at all. So as you can imagine, I was super happy, and was also really grateful to my grandparents for being so generous.

Anyway, regarding what I did with the money, well first of all, I spent some of it on a few new books, because I’m a bit of a bookworm, if truth be told, and whenever I have some money to spare, the first place I normally head to is the bookshop.

So that’s one thing, and as for what I did with the rest of the money, which was actually still quite a considerable amount, well, I thought it would be nice to take my friends out for a meal somewhere and celebrate my birthday with them. So we all went to a hotpot restaurant in the city centre and had a really great time together, although I should add that I wasn’t feeling too great the next morning, because my friends had made me drink a ridiculous amount during the dinner, so it took me about a day to recover!

Anyway, I thankfully still had a bit of money left over, so I decided to just put it in the bank for safekeeping. And that’s pretty much it, so thanks for listening.

The LUCRATIVE SMALL-SCALE business that I'd like to talk about today is a boutique that I patronize, named "She Loves".

我今天想谈的利润丰厚的小型企业是一家我光顾的精品店，取名为“她爱”。

As a fashion shop, it sells an array of women's wear and specialize in dresses and blouses. Although they're not tailor-made clothes, customers can almost always find an outfit that fits them at "She Loves" because the shop will have the clothes adjusted, free of charge - I should add. There's also a range of chic accessories such as clutch purses and belts.

作为一家时尚商店，它出售一系列女装，专门设计服装和女衬衫。虽然他们不是定制的衣服，但顾客几乎总能找到一套适合他们的衣服，因为商店会把衣服调整好，免费——我应该补充一下，还有一系列时髦的配饰，比如手包和腰带。

If I'm not mistaken, "She Loves" has been up and running for 2 years. Its Facebook has at least 350.000 followers and there are hundreds of orders per month from different areas in the country. What's more, the shop's always packed with people shopping or browsing.

I knew about the shop by random, seeing its banner ad when surfing the net. Captivated by the dresses advertised, I clicked on the ad and have visited its website at least once a week out of a habit since then. Also, I drop by the physical store more than twice a month, especially when there are new arrivals.

Despite being a family business, to my surprise, the shop operates really professionally. Besides, as it's a clicks-and-motar business, I can conveniently do the shopping right at home. "She loves" is surely always on the list of my favorite boutiques.
