参考范文

I gave my friend Daniel a book last month for his birthday.

Gifts are often how we express our love or care to others and we tend to choose the gifts according to their preferences and hobbies. My friend Daniel is a crazy fan of reading and honestly he loves all kinds of books related to history, wars, romance andscience. We live in the same neighbourhood and on our way back home is a bookstore which he constantly drags me to visit after school almost every day.

本段用到的单词&表达

preference n.偏爱;爱好;喜爱

constantly adv.总是;经常地,不断地可以替代大家常说的always

When the movie Da Venci Code was released into Chinese Market,he was talking about getting an English version of the book based on which the movie was made. But it was not happening as only Chinese version could be found then, online and in book stores. He was amazed by the interpretation of Christianity and the myth of Christ’s wife so you might be able to feel how disappointed he was when he failed to read the authentic version of the story. And as the best friend,I decided to cheer him up by getting this book.

be amazed by被...所吸引

interpretation n.解释,阐释;理解

One classmate of mine from primary school, let’s call him Ben,migrated to San Francisco with his family when we were 7 years old.I am pretty sure that he was able to find this book in the USA where people spoke and read English. So I made some calls via internet and Ben was glad to help.On the 25th of last month when it was Daniel’s birthday,I got him a thing packaged in a small box.

You might want to kick him when he dropped it among other presents from his families or friends.I actually kicked him and urged him to open it.And he did. Then his eyes was actually glowing when he saw the red cover with the Da Venci Code and the holy name of Dan Brown. So no doubts.I am the best friend of his. That is always for sure.

雅思口语礼物话题怎么回答

1.What kind of gifts do you prefer to receive? Why?

Flowers will be a perfect gift for me. The fragrance just lifts me up and the color, be it red, yellow or blue, will also flatten me when I take selfies. Another kind gift could be dolls like a teddy bear. The room appears warmer and more comfortable when covered with a wide range of dolls.

2.Do you like to send gifts to others?

I am a very busy person, which means I have little time to waste making this person or that feel better about themselves or to join in their celebrations. I do, however, observe etiquette, and send my regards by means of online delivery companies. I always pick the worst presents.

3.What do you usually give to others as gifts?

I have many relatives living all over China. Since travelling is time consuming and expensive, I prefer to deliver my presents to them, rather than give it to them myself. I discovered that flowers are an easy and inexpensive gift to serve for almost all occasions.

4.What kind of gifts did you like when you were a kid?

When I was a child, I loved the gifts of doll. One of my favorite dolls was a teddy bear who had a long snout and big, round eyes. He was covered in rich brown fur, or at least; he was when I first got him from my grandmother when I was an infant. Soon his fur was thin and worn because I carried him everywhere and almost never let him go!

5.What was the best gift you received when you were a kid?

Soon his fur was thin and worn because I carried him everywhere and almost never let him go!

6.Will you pick gifts online?

Of course, I will do so because I have many relatives living all over China. Since travelling is time consuming and expensive, I prefer to pick gifts on shopping websites and deliver my presents to them, rather than give it to them myself. I discovered that flowers are an easy and inexpensive gift to serve for almost all occasions.

7.How often do you buy others gifts?

I guess it is not often.I usually give gifts to my friends and family mainly on their birthdays.Besides,I will make a couple of gifts to my girlfriend by myself in some festival like Valentine's day and Christmas Day.

8.Do you like to send expensive gifts?

No, it’s totally unnecessary. Gifts don’t mean material object all the time and can be something special, including forgiveness and kindness.

雅思口语描述重要的礼物

Describe an important gift you had in your childhood.

You should say:

what it is

who gave it to you

what it looks like

and explain why it was important to you.

The first thing the pops into my head are my cats, Topsy and Turvy. They were my little bundles of joy whilst I was growing up.

When I was much younger I had another cat, called William. Sadly he was run over by a bus one day in front of our house. I can remember very vividly, one day I came home from school and my mum told me to look in the kitchen. I saw Topsy and Truvy and it was love at first sight. She told me when she had gone to collect them she only intended to buy one kitten, she put Topsy into the box and Turvy was mewing so loudly and scratching the box. She decided they were soul mates and couldn’t separate them.

I have no idea what kind of cats they were, all I can tell you is that they were painfully cute. Topsy was ginger and Turvy was ginger and white. Turvy had little white patches on his paws that made it look like he was wearing mittens. Topsy was a little furrier and made him look fat. One was shy and the other more outgoing. Like all brothers, they would sometimes fight and at other times cuddle up together.

Alas, they are no longer with us. Topsy passed away a few years ago and years finally caught up with Turvy finally as she bit the bullet last year. I knew that they would not live as long as me, but it’s still depressing to lose someone you love.

雅思口语描述免费的礼物

and explain how you felt about it.

解析:

题目要求描述的是一个免费的礼物。要求描述礼物是什么,为什么是免费的,还需要解释收到这个礼物的一些感受。

The free gift that I have ever received is a digital dictionary that my mother bought me on my 18th birthday. I was a college student at that time and my parents celebrated my birthday at home. Few friends and relatives were invited and it was a kind of family celebration. I was quite excited to open the gift boxes that my friends and family members gave me and there were some books, chocolate boxes and other gift items. Out of these gift items, an electronic dictionary was there in a small box with an ordinary wrapping paper around it. As soon as I opened it, I knew it was a gift from my mother. It was a while-colored small digital dictionary, not more than 4 by 6 inches in dimension, but was one of the latest models. It was quite handy for me and having this dictionary encouraged me to learn more words, their synonyms and their origins.

I once told my mother about this electronic dictionary and how some of my classmates used it. I never told my mother that I wanted to buy one but I guess my mother knew very well how much I wanted to own this item. She had to save money, I guess, to purchase it for me and this is the best gift I have received ever. This was not merely a gift item or an electronic device; it was more than that- like a wonder box wrapped with care and love. My mother is a housewife and managing the money to buy me this gift must have been a result of her many small sacrifices. I thanked my mother for this fabulous gift and she was so happy to see me excited about the gift. The gifts are always good gestures and tokens of appreciation and love, in our tradition. This gift was something special to me.

I knew how much my mother has always loved me and her gift represented her love as well as sacrifices for me. In terms of utilisation, it was quite handy for me. I could easily carry it in my pocket and I used it quite often to learn new words and that has helped enhance my language skill. This is the only gift from my teenage that I still have. I will always remember my mother's love that was blended with this gift and the unparalleled utilisation this device has brought was also important.
