1.How many people are there in your family?

There are four. There's myself of course. Then there's my younger brother, he's fifteen years old. And I have my mother and father who are both in their late 70s. I have two grand parents as well, but they don't live with us.

2.Can you Tell me something about your family?

Well, I've got two older sisters and one younger brother, so I'm right in the middle. My mum and Dad are divorced and they're remarried. So, actually I have quite a lot of stepbrothers and stepsisters, so there are quite a few of us.

3.What kind of things do you and your family do together?

There’s a lot of thing that we do together. My whole family always gather at dinner and discuss various types of stuff. I often take advice on important things from my parents, and sometime my little brother too.

4.Do you prefer to spend time with your family or with your friends?

If I were to choose between the two, I’ll go with my family because in many ways, my family are my friends and they are the ones who will stay with me all my life, whereas I don’t actually meet my friends very often, you know although yeah sometimes I have more fun with my friends because they are closer to my age.

5.How are you getting on with your parents?

If you asked me that question when I was at junior high, it would be totally different point of view. I mean, my parents, they had a list of things that they thought I need to become, and that I need to better myself and all, always compared me to another kids but it’s just like the story of the last decade.

雅思口语A day off话题

Describe something you would like to do if you were given a day off.

You should say:

What you would like to do

Who would you like to be with

Where you would like to do it

and explain how you would feel at the end of the day

解析：题目问的是休假一天你将怎么度过。这道题已经不是新题了，在2012-2013年的时候就考过一样的题目。然而这个题目一直被认为是相对难答的题目之一。需要注意的是这道题的问法有玄机，问的是如果你有一天你休假，你计划将怎么度过。这显然是一个对将来的虚拟，大家在回答这道题的时候就要格外小心语态的问题，重要的事情再强调一遍，问题中的语态和时态对应的就应该是我们回答的时候的语态和时态!所以对于这个题，我们通常会用到…. I would like to....; I guess I probably would…; 或者干脆就Iplan to…都可以。

那么对于这个topic本身，我们可以回答的内容相对是比较广泛的，怎么度过一天，你可以说有一个非常短的旅行short trip; 可以说跟朋友聚会friend-gathering, I would like to hang out and have a blast with friends; 可以说跟家人在一起享受天伦之乐，enjoy quality time with family; 可以说去做一些平时想做但是没时间做的休闲娱乐活动，爱好之类的，I would like to lie in the sofa, reading a novel with a cup of coffee in my hand, which I guess might be the best choice for me.

那么接下来2个小题，who to be with and where to go就比较简单啦，根据你选的想做的是做人物和地点的设定就OK了，friends/ besties/ family…; 最后一题，how would you like to feel, 依然是对将来的虚拟，让大家设想你这样度过一天之后的感受，大家不妨可以跟常规题目的最后一题做一个借鉴，通常情况下常规的题目最后一问问的是and explain why you enjoy it， 针对今天的这题目的最后一问，我们也可以说理由嘛，I assume that would be perfect for me to spend my day off, even if just for one day, in that way, because we are now so preoccupied by other chores at work and at home. If I could spend a day like that with people whom I care about that would be really precious and meaningful.

Tip：如果大家属于比较懒的那一型，不喜欢重新构架story-telling的部分，大家不妨可以合并相似话题，例如最近常考的话题里面有long walk，a journey by car, an educational trip, a happy family event等等都可以作为这个题目的素材，大家不妨把之前已经准备过的如上题目进行一个改写，注意时态的使用就OK了。

Sample:

In this highly competitive modern society, people are struggling to earn a good living or move up the ladder, which means we are so preoccupied with substantial volume of work and have less and less time to spend in our own way. I assume if people could be given one day off, they would like to spend that day in various ways. But to me, I probably won’t choose to hit the road and have a trip or to hang out with friends like many others might do. I suppose if I really think about that, I would have a much more meaningful and productive day off.Since I graduated from the university, I have been working hard and spent most of my time at workplace, and sometimes I even deal with the tasks at home which left me little time to spend with my family. I think it is time to have a change of my heart and get my priority right. So ideally I would like to fulfill the promise I made to my parents and enjoy that day with them. My dad has been always wanted me to go fishing with him and my mom wanted me to help her with the gardening. As I was the one being taken good care of, I hope I can give them some feedback. If I were given a day off, I would get up early and prepare breakfast for my parents, leaving a note on the table and telling them how grateful I am to their care. When I return home after jogging, I plan to clean the garden for my mom and pick up some flowers for her. Maybe then I would just stay at home with then, watch a movie or read some books, just be laid back and enjoy the time.I think that is the way I would like to spend my day off, meaningful and productive.

雅思口语Photography话题

1. Do you like taking photos/pictures?

听到这个题目很多同学的常规思路是“喜欢拍照，因为有意思【I love taking photos because it is very interesting】”。这种答法非常普便，最大的缺点就是太笼统，细节太少，不符合雅思口语评分标准中 ‘speak at full length’的内在要求。

那么有没有比较有意思，新颖，丰富的答案呢?下面我们通过语料分析来拓展一下思路。

这个问题所能展开的语料点有两个：

一是like这个单词，我们可以有很多同义替换的词汇，比如love, enjoy, be crazy about, be fond of等等。

第二语料点就是taking photos/pictures,我们可以想一想是给人照相，还是给风景照相，这样我们在设计答语时，就会有两个可发散的方向。或者两者都涉及到以使答更加丰富。关于taking photos/pictures，我们还可以用特殊疑问词去展开叙述，比如what，用什么拍照，相机还是手机，where喜欢在哪拍照，山里还是海边，还有how often多久拍一次。

对于这道题目而言，很多同学会有这样一个疑惑，Do you like taking photos是给自己拍照还是给别人拍照。这里我们可以引入一个短语 take photo of…表示给……拍照。所以为了保险一点，我们理解为给别人或其他东西拍照是绝对不会产生误解的。当然如想表达给自己拍照可以说 take photo of myself. 此题所考查的语法点并不是很难，主要是like doing something这样一个固定搭配。同时有相同语法规则的词还有enjoy doing something, 大家在使用时注意这一点即可。

范例：Oh, yes, taking photos is my favorite activity to have fun. Every time when I travel with friends or family people to some places such as tourist attractions or parks, I’m sure to take my camera to take pictures of sceneries, people and even myself. I will save and copy these pictures to my computer. Then I sometimes use photoshop to process the pictures to make them look more beautiful. Of course, like a lot of young people, I also use smart mobile phone to have photos quite often. The most important reason why I enjoy doing this activity is that photos always remind me of the wonderful past life. I love it.

2. Would you like to take photos of others or be photographed?

这是一个非常经典的选择性的问答题，面对这样的题目，大部分同学还是可以很快做出选择的，例如很多人会说: I would like to take photos of others.但是后续思路的拓展难倒了很多人，比如为什么喜欢这样的做法。理由的补充是雅思口语考试中最重要的细节之一。所以这个题目的思路的新颖性需要体现在reason这个点上。

我们来进行一下语料分析。首先是Would you like的替换，除了I would like这个短语之外，我们还可以用I would prefer to do, I have my preference for doing,甚至I want to, I love to都是不错的，也可以用一些对比信号比较强烈的词组，例如这样的开头句，Compared with being photographed, I would prefer to take photos of others.

那么接下来，我们该如何展开reason呢?最好的办法，就是结合自己的个人情况：

有的同学说自己不上相，我们可以说他不够photogenic,如果这个单词有难度，就可以说I don’t look beautiful/cool/handsome in photo.因此不太喜欢被别人拍照。

与之相反，有的同学比较喜欢欣赏自己的美，就可以说，I feel really confident when seeing beautiful me in photos.甚至可以自嘲说Maybe I have narcissism,有点自恋。因此这样的同学可以选择说喜欢被照相。这里我们谈了较多被拍照的思路，

除此之外，我们也可以就take photos of others展开分析，photography摄影是一个相对专业一点的爱好，想要拍好照片需要一定的技术，所以我们可以考虑一下自己的特长和爱好，从而确定怎么去答题。假如我的摄影技术很差，就可以说Taking photos of others is a hard job for me and many of my friends say that I often make them look weird in photos, so I seldom take photos of others.总之，这个题目思路和语料的展开是非常灵活的，因为题目给我们提供了两个事件：拍和被拍。因此，对比是主题。

雅思口语A Paid Job You Did话题

Describe a paid job you did or someone you know ever did.

You should say:

What the job was

When and where you did it

How long the job lasted

And explain how you felt about it.

关于素材，相信考生中大多数人都没有过工作挣钱的经历，但考场上你不能任性地告诉考官我没有过，我要换题。那一刻，考官给你什么题就是什么题了。有句话叫做“没吃过猪肉，还没见过猪跑吗?” 大家仔细想想作为学生，我们的周围能接触哪些工作呢?然后我们就把这些个工作嫁接到我们自己身上就好啦，这样的话你也不用硬编故事。比如，爸妈常常给我们请家教【tutor】，对于家教做什么我们是清楚的。同样的，如果你是学艺术的，你会很熟悉钢琴老师这个职业。如果你跑过健身房【gym】，你应该会知道好多健身教练【fitness instructor】或者私教【personal trainer】都是在校学生。

OK，如果你说我没这些才华和爱好，不了解，那超市和快餐店是常常去的吧，收银员【cashier】和服务生【waiter/waitress】我们都接触过，我们也常常去电影院【cinema/ movie theater】，那售票员【ticket seller】我们都见过的。所以，大家要留心生活，从自己的经历里找到合适的素材。而因为我是一个购物狂【shopaholic】, 所以我会以在商场最常见的导购【shop assistant】为例子，我本人也是没有做过这一类的工作。

I'd like to share with you my experience as a shop assistant this summer, which lasted for 2 months. Actually, this was the first paid job I've ever done. The reason I did it was because I was sick of idling about at home. I was bored to death, so for the sake of killing time, I did a little job hunting on the internet and then lucky for me, I got a job offer within 3 days. The place I worked was on the second floor of a large shopping mall. It's a well-known brand in China targeting people aged from 18 -30. On the first day, the manager gave me a little biton-the-job training. It didn't take too long for me to realize this was much harder than I had thought it would be. As a shop assistant, I was supposed to know the prices of all the products, as well as the promotions and stuff by heart. It was as challenging as memorizing new words. Not only that, I should watch the way I talked with customers. Sometimes I had to force myself to be friendly to customers I didn't like. At the end of this job, I got 5000 yuan in total. It's not too much, but I felt like I had earned a fortune. I was over the moon. The experience and memory took away from this job was priceless. I have learnt things I couldn't have learnt from classrooms. For example, this experience has got me to appreciate what my parents have provided for me all these years.
