雅思口语范文parent篇一:认识的好父母
Describe a good parent you know.
You should say:
Who the parent is
How you know the parent
What the parent looks like
And explain why you think the parent is good.
参考范文:
Ok right then, well the parent I’d like to talk about is the mother of a good friend of mine, and the reason for choosing to talk about her is that my friend is always going on about how lucky he is to have such a nice mum. And from what I know about her, I’d say he’s absolutely right!
Anyway, as for how I know her, well it’s basically due to the fact that I went to the same middle school as her son. And because we became pretty good friends, we ended up seeing quite a lot of each other’s parents, especially during the holidays when we often went over to each other’s homes.
And regarding what his mother looks like, well interestingly enough, she actually looks pretty similar to my own mother, because they both have quite round faces and long wavy hair. Having said that though, I’ve noticed that my friend’s mother often ties her hair up in a bun, whereas my mother usually always keeps it down. And another thing to mention would be that whenever I see her, she always seems to be wearing red clothes of some sort, which I guess is probably because red suits her quite well.
But anyway, finally then, with regard to why I think she’s a good parent, well I’d say there are quite a few reasons, one of which would be that she’s always been very supportive to her son. And just to give you an example, when he was deciding what major to study at university, he ended up choosing music. And his mother gave him her full support, which is probably not what many other parents would have done, as music doesn’t really leave open a lot of career choices, if you know what I mean!
And I think it’s fair to say that nowadays, a lot of parents persuade their children to do things which they think are best for them, but my friend has said that his parents have never been like this with him, especially his mother. So I kind of get the impression that she’s never forced him to do anything against his will, and has always let him make his own decisions, which I think’s really great.
That’s about it then. Thanks for listening.
雅思口语范文篇二:你喜欢的亲戚
I like many of my relatives who are very compassionate, lovely and friendly to me and among them I would pick my younger uncle as the best relative in terms of our mutual understanding, closeness and communications. In fact, we share so many common interest and activities that he is more like a friend to me than a guardian. I am very close to him and we share our books, thought and views on different issues like two close friends would do.
I like him because of his authentic compassion, support for me and because of the common interest he shares with me. I personally find him very benevolent and talented and he is a good counsellor for me. I respect him and it surprises me the way he treats me. I have never found him to ignore me and treat me as a younger nephew ever and that’s something I really like about him.
We often discuss our family issues, our thoughts of the politics, religion, books writers, movies, music and on many other issues. We share our books and recommend books to each other. I find his taste very much similar to me and that makes us do lots of things together including travelling, watching movies, spending holidays together and many more activities someone would like to do with friends. He even spends time with my friends without any hesitation.
I am the only child of my parent and from my childhood I found that my younger uncle was living in our house. This was the main reason we became close and apart from that the shared interests, his personality and behavior actually made us close. He took care of me in my childhood and supported me in many ways in my teenage and with time I became very close to him.

Certainly. We are a normal Chinese family. It consists of my father, my mother, and me. I am the only child, so I don’t have any brothers or sisters. My grandparents passed away when I was still very young, so I did not have the privilege of knowing them. My father was one of four children, and my mother has a brother, so I have a number of uncles and aunts, and many cousins.
32. What do you think of the One-Child Policy in China? 【 7 - 8 】
That’s a controversial question in China. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly I believe that the authorities had to do something to curb the increasing problem of overpopulation. However, I am of the opinion that the One-Child Policy was extremely harsh on the people. Maybe the government should have started off by introducing a Two-Child Policy.
33. Why do people in China traditionally want to have a son? 【 5 - 8 】
That’s an interesting question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, I believe that fathers all over the world want someone to carry their name into the future. For example, in many western countries it is customary for a boy to receive his grandfather’s name. A second reason that I could mention is that parents worry about what will happen to them after they had retired. They feel that when they have a son he would be able to provide for them in future.
34. Who does most of the shopping in your family? 【 5 - 8 】
As far as this topic is concerned, I could say that my mother does most of the shopping, but my father and I will do some shopping from time to time. My parents allow me to buy my own clothes. Lastly, I would like to mention that my mother does not like my father’s smoking habit and therefore refuses to buy cigarettes, so that my father has to do that kind of shopping himself.
35. Who does most of the cooking in your family? 【 5 - 8 】
My mother does most of the cooking, but my father and I will do some cooking from time to time. For example, sometimes my mother will be out the whole day doing voluntary work in our community, and then my father and I will do the cooking for her. The second aspect I could tell you about regarding this topic is that we often eat out. For example, often on a Friday night none of us feel like cooking, and then we visit one of the local restaurants, and have our favorite dish.
36. How does your family feel about you going abroad? 【 5 - 8 】
They are very happy about me going abroad. I believe my parents will be very proud if I were to achieve a degree at a university abroad. 雅思口语范文篇四:家庭中的老人
1. Are Chinese families usually big or small?
In the past families in China were large, Mao Zedong encouraged the Chinese people to have more children as a military technique, also for developing agriculture and production. Women usually went to live with her husband’s family after getting married. No couple ever thought of living alone. Today, Chinese families are usually small, because they can only have one child. It can be bigger for instance, if one grandparent passes away, the other would move in and live with extended family. Chinese people often take the responsibility of caring for seniors.
2. In Chinese families, who usually makes the major decisions?
In the past, the eldest male in the family would make the major decisions. Young couples usually lived with and depended on the husband’s parents. Nowadays it is totally different. Most young couples move out to live on their own, and the decision process is shared. In my family my father makes many of the decisions because he is the main bread winner. For important matters, they usually discuss them together, but my mother eventually has the final say, because she’s more sophisticated and clever.
3. Do you think it is good for grandparents to help bring up their grandchildren?
No, I do not think it is good for grandparents to help raise their grandchildren. Grandparents often spoil kids, giving them too much unnecessary love and gifts. What’s more if children grow up with them, they don’t usually gain any useful knowledge. However, it’s undeniable that many children nowadays are raised by their grandparents. Many parents are very busy working long exhausting days, which makes them too tired to take care of feeble babies.
4. What can children learn from grandparents?
By spending time with grandparents, children have a better sense of who they are and where they've come from. They have roots, a history, and a sense of continuity. They develop a sense of pride and responsibility in carrying forward the legacy that has been passed to them. Through sharing in a grandparent's interests, skills, and hobbies; children are introduced to new activities and ideas. Grandparents can be very patient, effective teachers. Knowledge, skills, and attitudes children pick up from grandparents tend to stick with them through life more than those picked up from other sources.
