雅思口语重在日常积累和练习,但并非茫无目的。我们必须针对不同的话题,分门别类,进行强化训练,只有这样才能脚踏实地,提高口语水平。
1.Do you often use the Internet?
Yes, the Internet is great. I use the internet to keep up with current events. The Internet has a lot of quality news articles from many different sources. There is a world of knowledge right at your finger tips.
Yes, almost every day. I use the Internet for school research, email, and sometimes for map quest and news.
2. What do you use the Internet for most?
To check my emails, chat with my friends, go on YouTube and watch videos, play games online, search for photos and other stuff like that.
I guess everything, but for me the Internet is mainly about the people on it, meaning here is where my social life is.
I use the Internet to keep in touch with family members and friends. I use it with my job, I also use it to read the local and national news headlines, read my horoscope daily and to see what TV shows are worth watching tonight or tomorrow.
3. How did you learn how to use the Internet?
Everybody was always asking me for my email address, but I didn't have one. I went to a website a friend informed me of and created one. Friends kept telling me about different websites to check out. I tried them one by one and discovered that the web has unlimited uses. Finally, I found I was using the Internet almost everyday on my own.
4. How do you go onto the Internet?
I like to go out and use the Internet so I don’t feel like I am being lazy. I usually take my laptop to a coffee shop, ask the waitress for the password, and type it in. If I can’t go to a café, I just connect to the web at home.
5. What are the good and bad points about the Internet?
A good point is that there is a lot of free information. I can easily stay up to date with all that is happening in the world today. A bad point is that it is sometimes hard to decipher between what is fact and what is opinion. One must make sure that the information he or she is receiving is from a reliable source.
6. Do you think the use of the Internet needs to be controlled?
Yes, I do. There are a lot of mischief makers in the world that can use the Internet to do evil things. There are hackers that break into people’s computers by use of the Internet with the intent of stealing. Hackers also like to break into government or business sites to disrupt their operations.

Describe a success in your life.
You should say:
when it was
what it was
why you chose it
how you achieved.
I guess success can vary depending on your viewpoint. Some people judge success by how much money they have, the clothes they wear or the car they drive. In that respect I maybe haven’t had a lot of success so far in my life, but I have still achieved things that I am proud of.
One such thing I can remember happened when I was an undergraduate at university, I think during my second year. We were encouraged to get involved in after-school activities and events, so I volunteered to help organise a dubbing contest that was taking place. You have probably come across dubbing if you’ve watched a foreign film and the native language has been replaced with another one over the top. The students that took part had divided themselves into groups of three or four people. They would take it in turns to go up on stage and play an English movie without the sound turned on, while they spoke the words over the top of the video.
I mainly chose to volunteer so that I could earn extra credits, or points, to go towards my degree. But it was also a good opportunity to meet some new people and it gave me something to do in my spare time.
In the end everything went off without a hitch and the night was a big success. We had rehearsed everything again and again and all the hard work paid off. I think the key to the success was everyone’s effort and teamwork, it wasn’t just a personal success, but one that I shared with a whole group of people.

Describe a subject you didn't like before but have interest in now.
You should say:
what it was
when you studied the subject
why you didn't like it before
and explain why you have interest in it now.
Let’s just say, I was far from an angel at school. I guess I wasn’t that bad, but no one would call me a model student. There were a few subjects I really didn’t care for, but mainly it was Chinese.
I’ve obviously studied Chinese throughout my school life, but it was particularly excruciating during senior high-school, so when I was around 11 to 17 years old.
Wow, where do I start? Firstly, our teacher was awful. His name was Mr Zhang and he was a real old fuddy-duddy who would only teach from the textbook and regularly bored us to death. We would have to commit countless things to memory, lots of ancient stuff like poems and chengyu, which are Chinese phrases made from between 3 to 16 characters, although the most common use 4. I couldn’t see a use for these things in modern life, they just didn’t seem practical.
As I got older and more mature, I started to respect Chinese more. I dug out some of my old textbooks and began flicking through them. Second time round they made more sense to me and I engaged with them a lot more.
Nowadays there is a greater interest in Chinese, with a variety of TV shows such as “Chengyu Yingxiong”, which means ‘Chengyu Hero’. These shows celebrate people’s knowledge of characters and in doing so celebrate our culture.

You should say:
what it is
when you first became interested in it
how you will learn about it
and explain why you want to learn more about it.
One of my biggest passions in life is food. I would say I’m not generally a fussy eater and I’m willing to try pretty much anything. I like food from all over the world, whether it’s spicy curries from India or delicious pasta dishes from Italy.
Unfortunately, while I’m very good at eating food, I’m not so great at cooking it! I can cook basic food, but my culinary skills are certainly nothing to write home about. I used to watch my mum cook at home, but not a lot of her talent rubbed off on me. Nevertheless, it sparked my interest in cooking and food in general.
I guess I could learn how be a better cook by reading a recipe book or watching cookery programmes on TV, but to be honest I think I’d be better off going to lessons. Once I’ve picked up the basics I can always try using a book at home, but to start I think I should have a teacher telling me what to do.
One thing I love to be able to do is cook an Indian curry from scratch. The best curries are always cooked without using a jar of sauce, but it requires a lot of different spices and you need to know how to use them.
I think it would be great to be a better cook as cooking can be very therapeutic and relaxing. Besides, everyone loves a good cook and it’s helpful to impress members of the opposite sex!
