Describe a wedding you have been to.

You should say:

Where it was

Who you went with

What you saw

And how you felt about the wedding.

During the last 2 years, I’ve attended several weddings since I am already at the age when many of my friends are planning to get hitched with their lovers. But today I would like to say something about my cousin’s wedding, which roughly happened 5 months ago. I went there with my family, definitely. Specifically, Chinese weddings are quite different from western ones. For western countries, they normally hold a wedding in a church, but for Chinese, we always have it in a fancy hotel or a luxury restaurant, and so it’s the same with my cousin’s wedding.

Before the ceremony, the groom picked up the bride, my cousin, with a motorcade and then they took some photos in open areas, just on a square of my city. My cousin was extremely beautiful and she was in a pure white wedding dress. And then, they went to the hotel, where they had the wedding reception. The venue was nicely decorated, and there was a flood of people, perhaps 200. To be honest, the reception was very ceremonious. Firstly, the officiator gave a very brief speech, after that, the new couple exchanged their rings, took vows, and followed by a toast from the guests to the bride and groom. Undoubtedly, everyone there was in high spirits, chatting and laughing all day long. The couple, obviously loved each other so much. They even couldn’t take their eyes off each other during the whole evening. It was a wonderful wedding as I’ve witnessed my cousin’s important day. It was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience for her.

Well, to be honest, I’ve got to say this is quite a tricky topic for me, cause I do get online quite a lot and there are loads of webpages that I like to visit on a day-to-day basis; but if I’ve got to tell you about one of them, perhaps I could bring up this one Yahoo.com.

I reckon you must have heard of Yahoo. If not, I use it just as a search engine, pretty much like Google. Of course they do many other things, like finance and that. When I first started to chat to internet friends back in high school, I met an American guy who recommended me to download Yahoo messenger. That’s the first time I heard about this Yahoo thing. To be honest, I’d never really liked yahoo messenger so I stopped using it pretty soon. But then I discovered Yahoo.com was actually a pretty handy website which could help me solve all my doubts and questions.

What’s more, I could sign up for an email address and that. In fact, I didn’t use to use Yahoo as much as I got on Google, but since Google got blocked over here in China, I’ve sort of moved back onto Yahoo. These days, I mainly just use it to check some English idioms for my own interest. Apart from that, I really enjoy browsing for all kinds of images and that on it. Even some of my friends are starting to use Yahoo too, although most people around me still prefer Baidu which is possibly one of the most popular search engines in my country.

Anyway, I have to say deep down I still kind of like Google better, although I cannot really think of anything bad about Yahoo yet. I mean at the moment, I’m quite happy with what I can get over the internet with the help of Yahoo. Hopefully Google will be allowed soon so I can have more choices. That’s all I can tell you about right now.

1. Do you like taking photos/pictures?

【I love taking photos because it is very interesting】”。

一是like这个单词,我们可以有很多同义替换的词汇,比如love, enjoy, be crazy about, be fond of等等。

Do you like taking photos是给自己拍照还是给别人拍照。

Oh, yes, taking photos is my favorite activity to have fun. Every time when I travel with friends or family people to some places such as tourist attractions or parks, I’m sure to take my camera to take pictures of sceneries, people and even myself. I will save and copy these pictures to my computer. Then I sometimes use photoshop to process the pictures to make them look more beautiful. Of course, like a lot of young people, I also use smart mobile phone to have photos quite often. The most important reason why I enjoy doing this activity is that photos always remind me of the wonderful past life. I love it.

2. Would you like to take photos of others or be photographed?

I would like to take photos of others.

首先是Would you like的替换,除了I would like这个短语之外,我们还可以用I would prefer to do, I have my preference for doing,甚至 Compared with being photographed, I would prefer to take photos of others.

I don’t look beautiful/cool/handsome in photo.

I feel really confident when seeing beautiful me in photos.甚至可以自嘲说Maybe I have narcissism,有点自恋。

Taking photos of others is a hard job for me and many of my friends say that I often make them look weird in photos, so I seldom take photos of others.
