Ok, well I've actually been to quite a few weddings, because I'm now at the age when a lot of my friends are starting to get married, so it was kind of difficult choosing which one to describe, but I guess probably the easiest for me to talk about would be the most recent one I went to, which was that of a neighbour of mine.
Also, what I should probably make clear to you first, though, is that weddings here in China tend to just involve the wedding reception, as you may know, without the signing of marriage documents, which is usually done in private several months before the wedding, so it's just the reception which I'm gonna talk about.
And, as for who was there, well, I couldn't tell you everyone, because there were absolutely loads of people, you know, the hall was pretty packed, so my guess would be that there were probably something like 250 to 300 guests, and if I'm not mistaken, it seemed to be that the majority were friends and relatives of the bride and groom, although I also noticed that they had invited quite a few of their colleagues from work as well, because one of them, who I think was her boss, went up on stage to make a speech at some point.
Anyway, with regard to where the wedding was held, well, it was actually in a small city called Zhuji, which is about an hour's drive just to the south east of Hangzhou, because that's where the bride comes from, and the reception itself was held in quite a nice-looking hotel, which was easy to spot because it was about 10 times higher than all the buildings around it!
So regarding how I felt at the wedding, well, to put it simply, it was a really wonderful wedding, and there were some parts of it that moved me quite a lot, such as when the bride broke down in tears when she was on stage thanking her parents for all the support they had given her. It was also really clear to see how much the bride and groom loved each other, as they couldn't take their eyes off each other the whole evening, so I was really happy for them and was glad that I made it to their wedding.
That's pretty much it, I think, so thanks a lot for listening.
1. Do you like to watch the sky?
喜欢看天空,喜欢什么时候看天空when I got nothing to do or have something stuck in my mind,在天空中你可以看到什么,crystal clear blue, clouds moving in an extremely subtle way, sometimes if I’m lucky, birds fly through in crowds看天空时候你的感觉是怎样的it’s the most peaceful moment then get wandering .
Example: Well, to be honest, I used to love looking up at the sky all the time. When I had my mind stuck in somewhere or simply got bored, I would go out to a roof or somewhere I can quietly enjoy the crystal clear blue sky, with the clouds moving subtlety, sometimes if I’m lucky, I can also see birds flying through in crowds. It was the most peaceful moment and perfect for wandering with the breezes. But now with the fog and haze, there’s no way I can do that again.
2.Do you prefer the sky during the day or at night?
难点是找出可以对比描述的方向,比如白天因为有太阳更加明亮而且温暖so much brighter and warmer because of the sun,晚上有星星,更加静谧tranquil。
Actually, I don’t have any particular preference over this since they both got unique features. In the daytime, it’s so much brighter and warmer because of the sun, so it is more comfortable to have the sunbath while watching the sky. But it is not as tranquil or fascinating as it is in the evening with all those shinning stars blinking towards me.
3.Have you learnt any courses about stars or planets?
I kind of have. I memorized a range of introductions in my geography class. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can recall any of those detailed information any more. But I do read or hear some news mainly about the where to get the best views of the "shooting stars" or things like this quite often. And almost every girl I know never stops gossiping about constellation, such as who is a typical Virgo or how can one get along well with a narcissistic Sagittarius. This is pretty much all I know about the stars. 4.Where is a good place to watch stars?
后续再描述具体的地方:比如the roof of the skyscrapers ,Closest place to the sky.
Well, I guess it depends greatly on where one live. I mean, for someone lives in the suburban district or country side, with less lights and average height of the house, positions for a better view may not matter that much. However, for one form urban areas, it would be excellent to stand on the roof of a skyscraper or get in a planetarium or museum where a telescope is set. Unfortunately, I have never tried this.
1. Do you like taking photos/pictures?
【I love taking photos because it is very interesting】”。
一是like这个单词,我们可以有很多同义替换的词汇,比如love, enjoy, be crazy about, be fond of等等。
Do you like taking photos是给自己拍照还是给别人拍照。
Oh, yes, taking photos is my favorite activity to have fun. Every time when I travel with friends or family people to some places such as tourist attractions or parks, I’m sure to take my camera to take pictures of sceneries, people and even myself. I will save and copy these pictures to my computer. Then I sometimes use photoshop to process the pictures to make them look more beautiful. Of course, like a lot of young people, I also use smart mobile phone to have photos quite often. The most important reason why I enjoy doing this activity is that photos always remind me of the wonderful past life. I love it.
2. Would you like to take photos of others or be photographed?
I would like to take photos of others.
首先是Would you like的替换,除了I would like这个短语之外,我们还可以用I would prefer to do, I have my preference for doing,甚至 Compared with being photographed, I would prefer to take photos of others.
I don’t look beautiful/cool/handsome in photo.
I feel really confident when seeing beautiful me in photos.甚至可以自嘲说Maybe I have narcissism,有点自恋。
Taking photos of others is a hard job for me and many of my friends say that I often make them look weird in photos, so I seldom take photos of others.
1. Do you like sunny days?
当然也可以去转述,说‘I like it when it’s sunny’。还有的同学回答‘Do you like sunny days?’这个题目,喜欢直接回答‘Yes I like sunny days’或者‘No, I don’t like sunny days’。
Yes -> Totally = Definitely = absolutely!
No -> Definitely not! = Absolutely not! = Obviously not!
Not really = not particularly
范例一
Absolutely not! On sunny days, I just sweat so much and I always get my makeup smudged. Plus, you know here in China we all want to have fair skin, so I hardly ever go out when the sun is shining.
范例二
Yeah, totally. I used to hate it so much though back in the day cause I didn't wanna get tanned. Nowadays I’ve grown up a bit, so I’m not really bothered any more. Plus I find that the bright sunshine can always put me in a jolly good mood.
2. Do you like going outside on sunny days?
你可以这么讲 – Well I guess it really depends. I mean most of the time, I would prefer to stay indoors enjoying my lovely AC if it’s burning out there. But if it’s in winter, I like to take a walk somewhere to let the sun warm me up.
误区:
有的同学在这里可能会有点儿没注意介词的准确,时常听到这样的回答‘I like going outside in sunny days’或者‘I don't like going outside in sunny’。 比如on my birthday, on Valentine’s Day, on Xmas…
语料:
No - Not really = not particularly
Not particularly. I think my skin is too fragile and I can’t really put up with the blistering sun. You know I once had my back peeling after having stayed in the sun for too long. Anyway, I’m not being fussy, lazy or something, I mean if it’s a cloudy day, I wouldn’t mind going out there for a bit.
