Describe a time you were close to a wild animal.

You should say :

what animal it was

where you saw it what happened

when you saw it

and explain how do people in your country feel about this animal.

Sample answer:

The south China tiger is one of the endangered and rather precious species of carnivores in China. It is well acknowledged that they are as valuable as the pandas, due to their only presence in China all over the world.

The reason why people call them the south China tiger is because they live in south of China. Most of them were living in the mountains and forests in Hunan,Fujian,Guangdong,Henan and Shanxi Province. Technically, you could find them in the forest land and wild area where wild boar, buffalo and many kinds of deer were abundant. However, from 1950s,people began to hunt them, which caused huge declining.

Although the government set laws to protect them, the illegal hunting was continued. So,now I'm very sad to tell you that many experts believed that south China tiger has been extinct in the wild area.

There are only about 100 south China tigers living in several zoos and breed base places. All of them are feeding by people, which is a tragedy coz they are wild animals. But we don't have other choice,we have to protect them, they are going to die out.

In the past time, many animal photographers are devoted in taking photos of south China tigers. Thanks to them,we now have many valuable pictures when they were living in the wild area.

雅思口语Hobby话题

What do you like about your hobby?

I have been in the habit of it for almost 8 years. The main factor is that I can capture the precious moment in my life, such as the graduation ceremony, or the sweet moment with my girlfriend, and also I believe the photography will cultivate my mental development.

How much time do you spend on your hobby?

Not so much time actually, I take photos from time to time. Normally if I’m free in my spare time, I will go out to the natural sceneries with all my gears to find and capture the stunning moments because I find it quite entertaining to do that; but if I have lots of on my hands I’ll probably focus on my work.

Is your hobby a common hobby in your country?

Oh, yes, it’s definitely a common hobby in my country as photography has been gone through a long way in history. You can easily see people taking photos of portraits or landscape in the parks or any natural sceneries in China.

Are there any new hobbies that you would like to take up?

Well, recently I went to running in the park because I wanted to keep me fitness and get toned. Besides, keeping a running track in my iPhone and sharing it with my friends are really entertaining. Moreover, I wanted to try some traditional English Oxford shoes because they really look cool and trendy, and would suit my new coat well.

雅思口语电视教育节目话题

Describe an educational TV program.

You should say:

what the program is

what type of program it is

what contents it has

and explain what you learned from the program.

I’d like to talk about a program from my childhood called “How 2”, I believe it’s originally a British TV show that was televised in my country with subtitles. The presenters certainly spoke with a British accent.

It’s hard to pin down exactly what type of program it was, I guess a mixture of science and history, with some everyday facts thrown in for good measure. The title itself is a play on words, as the series would show you ‘how to’ do certain things.

The show is aimed at kids in middle school or high school. The hosts would routinely do experiments to demonstrate science in action, I remember one in particular where the presenters were trying to pour water out of a bottle in the quickest way possible. The winner had a very good technique whereby she would swirl the water, creating a vortex and causing the liquid to fly out of the bottle far quicker than any of the others’.

As you would expect, the show got me interested in science and learning, but it also showed that you could do many experiments yourself and have fun at home, with everyday objects and materials that were easy to get hold of. At school we would need equipment and the teacher would have to supervise us, but at home we could be left to our own devices, with just a bottle and some water to keep us amused.

雅思口语喜欢的电影话题

Describe a film you enjoyed.

You should say:

what the film is

when and where you watched

what it is about

and explain why you enjoyed it.

I’m not a regular cinema-goer, I prefer the comfort and convenience of watching movies in my own home, where I can download them and view them on my TV. However, occasionally there is a film that I feel I must watch on the big screen, the most recent of which was Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.

It’s the newest film in the Transformers franchise, which is based on old toys that were made in the ‘80s. They tell the story of massive robots that can transform into different machines, like tanks or fire trucks, and fight battles on Earth. In this instalment, evil robots that look like dinosaurs, called Dinobots, battle it out against the good robots, called Autobots.

The film was released in the summer of 2014, the time of the year when a lot of big blockbusters are brought out because it’s the school holidays, so they can make more money. I chose to watch the film in a 3D IMAX cinema. Nothing beats the experience of seeing a big budget movie on a huge screen, with the characters popping out at you. The sound system at the cinema is also amazing, with surround sound making you feel like you’re in the centre of the action.

Although the story wasn’t all that great, I loved the action sequences and the special effects. Some of the film was also shot in China and the Chinese actress Li BingBing made an appearance, so even though it was a Hollywood movie, I could relate to it more easily.
