雅思口语关于天气的话题

Q. What types of weather do people in your country dislike most? Why is that?

Answer: In England, it rains all the time and it's really cold here on such days. I think that most people hate when it's raining and windy at the same time, because apart from the fact that they can't see anything and want to move forward, the pressure of the wind makes them go backwards. Something else that really gets me on my nerves is that my clothes get wet and I can't use my umbrella because of the wind.

Tip: You can also say that you don't like the hot weather or even the snow. Just think of the weather in your country and mention which is the worst one for you.

Q.How do rainy days make you feel?

Answers A】 Well! Along with rain drops, rainy days bring ecstatic changes around us. We can enjoy variety of dishes sitting at home and seeing rain drops makes us feel blissful indeed. The precept outside elevates our mood. The tiny drops of water seem wrapping the happiness around them and more likely tend to be the lifeline for vegetation, along with sheer boon to draught prone areas and deserts.

Answers B】 Frankly speaking, I feel slightly uneasy during rainy days. It’s muddiness all around the street and every class of society gets the day to day life affected due to mud and water gathered all around. Sometimes heavy rainfall halts the life and people don’t even have proper access to household commodities. From transportation to electricity everything has ceased to be stopped. In rainy season not only the quality of drinking water gets worse but also untimely rain affects our vegetation adversely. Many diseases like Malaria, Hepatitis and Diarrhea etc. also spread their tentacles during this weather.

Q. What jobs can be affected by different weather conditions? Why?

Answer: It seems to me that different weather conditions can affect different occupations. Builders and farmers are negatively affected if it rains heavily. For example, if the weather is rainy people who works outside cannot work properly. Pilots and ice-cream sellers are two other professions that are affected by bad weather as well. In the first case, rain, snow and wind have a great impact on schedules while for the ice cream sellers, the volume of sales and whole business depends on the season and weather.

Q. Are there any important festivals in your country that celebrate a season or type of weather?

Answer: I cannot recall such festivals or celebrations in my country. However, I am certain in many countries this is quite a common trend to celebrate different weathers and seasons. For instance, the first day of the year, Rainy season, Autumn and Spring are often celebrated in India and Bangladesh. If we look back in our history, our ancestors mostly celebrated different festivals which were based on different seasons and weathers.

Tip: Think of different kinds of festivals in your own country and mention few of them and how they are celebrated.

If there is no such festivals in your country, simply state that this types of festivals are not celebrated in your country. Just remember, if the answer is negative, don't be upset that you said very few words. As mentioned, not all of your answers can be extended.

Describe an art activity.

You should say:

when it happened

what you did in this activity

who you did with

and explain how you felt after doing it.

I’m very fond of art; my apartment is full of statues and masks and my walls are covered in paintings and prints. Having said that, I don’t tend to make my own art. I don’t think I’m particularly creative and I’d say I’m more practically or scientifically minded. The only time I can really remember regularly taking part in any art activity was when I was at school, but there was one time on vacation when I dabbled in a bit of art.

It was two years ago when I was on holiday in Indonesia. I was on a tour of some local villages and we came across a woman doing pottery. She asked if anyone would like to have a go, but nobody wanted to be the first one to take her up on her offer. I decided to try my hand at it, so I sat down and got stuck in.

You start by putting a lump of clay on a potter’s wheel and dropping a little water on top. The wheel begins to turn and you use your hands to form the shape you want, maybe a short, fat bowl or a tall, thin vase. I didn’t really have a clue what I was doing, so the woman took my hands and basically did all the work herself. We made a short, stumpy bowl and then used my thumb to put dents in the rim, so it ended up looking like an ashtray.

Once it was finished my hands were covered in clay and I felt a bit embarrassed as lots of people were watching and I had needed a lot of help to make the ashtray. Still, I felt good for being the first person to try and it was only a bit of fun; no one took it very seriously.

Describe a piece of artwork or handicraft you made at school.

You should say:

when you made it

what it is like

how you made it

and explain why you made it.

We didn’t do a lot of arts and crafts when I was at school, so when we did it was a big deal. When you’re a kid, glue and paint ismuch more interesting than numbers and books, so it really sticks in your mind.

I remember one year, I was in primary school, so I must have been six or seven years old. It was Mother’s Day and my teacher told us we would make a greeting card for our mum to say thank you to her for raising us and to show that we loved her.

My memory is a little hazy, but I can still recall using the special scissors that you have in school, the ones that are extra safe so that children do not hurt themselves when they try to cut something. We also had the sticks of glue that you have to twist the bottom to get the sticky part. I cut a big heart out of some red paper and stuck it on to a yellow piece of card, then I covered it in glue and poured sparkly stuff all over it.Looking back it seems a bit over the top, but when you’re a child the more the better! Inside I wrote, “I love you, mummy” and drew a very bad picture of me.

Like I said, when you’re a kid you are always excited to make things and get messy with paint and glue. But because it was for my mum I was extra pumped up and wanted to make her the most beautiful card ever! She still has it today, along with a lot of other embarrassing artwork and photos from my childhood.

雅思口语历史时期话题

Describe a historical period that you are interested in

You should say:

What the historical period is

How you know it

What happened during that period

Why you find it interesting

Speaking of a period of history that I fond of,I would like to talk something about the Middle age. Life in the Middle Ages was completely different than we see it today. Some reflections of life of that period are found in cinemas but most of them are unrealistic. They are filled with fantasies. The real life in the Middle Ages was filled with classifications and the feudal system dominated the entire society. And most importantly, people were superstitious to a great extent. This is a very smart candidate task card and I am happy to have it in my share.

In some terms, living in the Middle Ages was beneficial. Life was not so much complicated as it is found today. People used to live near nature. And there were fewer traffic congestions in the streets. Though the streets remained crowded round the day, there were no troubles among the pedestrians and people used to live in their own way. Minding the own business was the key task. The other important benefit was that they did not think so much about the career or about the other silly issues that matter most in the present day.

But there were some drawbacks as well. The classification was the most important obstacle of this age. People were classified into various groups and the noblemen used to dominate the poorer section of the society. The scope of entertainment was limited and the lower parts of the society had no or little access to such activities. The daily life in this age was the subject of wealth and power.

I would like to have lived in that period of time. In fact, a fascination works in me about that age. I have seen numerous events in movies and got addicted to the age. So, I want to travel in the streets with a dimmed lantern with me and enjoy the views around.
