范文
During my freshman year in college, I had a great time at party that was held to celebrate the start of the summer. We dressed formally and partied until the bread of down. The party kicked off in our school gymnasium with some thumping tunes and great disco lights. The music was pumping, and the drinks were flowing, it felt so good to be young and free!
All the freshman students got together to decorate the gymnasium and to set up the sound and lights. We got started around 2 in the afternoon and we were still hanging lights when then first partiers arrived at 8 PM, We paid for a professional DJ to play the tunes and he delivered an extremely impressive musical set.
Students were drinking and dancing and having an absolute blast. Not a single person was sitting down, everyone was on their feet enjoying the music. Some of the real party animals even got up on the stage and showed their moves.
After the party was over the lights came on and we could see the carnage left behind. The place was an absolute disaster zone afterwards and it took a lot of work to clean up the mess. There was fruit punch spilled everywhere and some of the decorations were piled up on the floor. It took us absolutely ages to get the gymnasium ship-shape again!
Describe an unusual meal you had
You should say:
Who you were with
Where you went
When it happened
Why it was unusual
The unusual meal I am going to tell you is what I ate with my best friend before graduation. He and I shared the same room and our beds were set together. During the college, we play basketball together, study together and even help each other find our true loves. Oh, a lot of happy memory.
The meal was in the evening before graduation. Next day, we would pursue our own courses. He would go to Xia’men, a southern city in China, to teach in a university, while I would stay here and start my work. We were parted thousands of miles, so that meal was very likely to be our last meal in several years, and it is.
Instead of eating in a restaurant, we bought some food and beer and came back to the dormitory where we lived for four years. We ate, drank and talked. We talked about our ambitions, expectations, lives, and paths ahead until about 4 o’clock in the morning. Then we packed our baggage. He embarked on his way to Xia’men. I took a bus to my small rented room.
In fact, the food that day was not so good, but I always remember this meal and it resurfaces in my memory now and then. After all, it symbolized the end of my college and precious friendship.
Describe a team you were part of.
You should say:
when the team was formed
who else participated in it
what you did there
and explain why you became part of the team.
I was an enthusiastic member of the student union while I was at university. My university was founded in 1950 and the union had existed for many years, but obviously there was a turnover of members as students graduated.
Besides myself, the union consisted of a number of my fellow classmates and some students from other departments. It was nice to mingle with people outside of my department and make friends in different circles. Despite this, I was especially glad that my good friend Tina was also an active member, so we could chat and see each other without our union commitments getting in the way.
The role of the union was to organize student events, for instance the end of year party or certain competitions like the annual drama contest. The biggest occasion I had a hand in was the university’s 50th Anniversary, where we threw an elaborate party, with dancers and fireworks and even some VIP guest speakers.
At first, I had little to no interest in joining the union, but prospect of seeing Tina more regularly was a real incentive for me, not to mention I thought it would look good on my résumé in the future. It turned out to be a great choice as everyone welcomed me with open arms and I made friends that I plan to keep in contact with for the rest of my life.
