1.Do you like to eat fruit【s】 and vegetables?

Yes, sure, I love fruits, like oranges, watermelon and so on, because they’re sweet and refreshing and help me maintain my healthy diet. But I just go for the fresh ones. When they are cooked or preserved, such as canned fruit, they change at the chemical level and this kills a lot of the enzymes, which aid in digestion and the absorption of the nutrients.

2.What’s your favourite fruit?

Well, I love oranges most because having one after dinner can help me break down my food better. They can also help me lose more weight. On the other hand, if possible, I’ll avoid lemons because I think they are a little bit too sharp for me.

3.Do you think people should eat more fruits and vegetables?

Definitely. You know, vegetables and fruits are important protective foods that are valued in maintaining alkaline reserves in the body and preventing disease. So people should eat more fruits and vegetables, which can be successfully utilized to build up and repair the body.

4.What are the benefits for children from eating fruits and vegetables?

Well, it’s important for children to develop good eating habits at an early age, as vegetables contain fiber, lots of vitamins and minerals, which may have additional health benefits. Obviously, kids usually have a sweet tooth and like to eat something that tastes good.

5.How much fruit and vegetables do you think a person needs to stay healthy?

Well, it depends on different types of people, like for example; adults should have 3 servings of fruit and 4 servings of vegetables on a daily basis, whereas children just need a cup of fruit or vegetables which are rich in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits, to keep their gums healthy.

1. Do you think neighbors are important?

常见的提问方法为 “Do you think …is important/necessary?” 相信很多考生都比较熟悉“远亲不如近邻”这个谚语,“A distant relative is not as helpful as a near neighbor”。 毕竟,又如中国古话说,“抬头不见低头见”, “be bound to see much of each other”.

Sample

Of course, that’s for sure. Cause you know you are bound to see much of each other, when you go to work or when you get back home, or in the lift and so on. They can provide you with some immediate help. Just as the traditional Chinese saying goes, “A distant relative is not as helpful as a near neighbor”. Besides, a healthy, strong relationship can enhance your happiness of living in the community.

引申:

Do you think it’s are important to have a good relationship with one’s neighbors?

Sample

Yes, absolutely. For example, when you go for a work trip, and you can ask your neighbor to take care of your pet or to watch out your house for you occasionally. You know, crimes like burglars or robbery can be greatly reduced through a helpful neighbor. So it’s really practical to have a good relationship with your neighbors.

2. Do you think people’s relationships with their neighbors today is the same as it was in the past?

How do you think the neighbor relationship has changed in China in recent years?

Do you think it’s common in China to not know each other’s neighbors?

Sample

Maybe not. You know in the past, most Chinese people live in a big yard, they share some public facilities, send each other homemade food, visit each others’ home all the time, it’s like they are a big family. However, nowadays, most of the people live in apartments, and they shut the door after work. It’s common in China right now to not know your neighbors at all. They are already totally different.

3. Why do you think is that?/ What are the reasons behind that?

Sample

Well, there are many factors for that. You know, modern people are all busy with their life and suffer from a lot of stress. So they don’t want to still suffer from the pressure of socializing after work. There is no doubt to say that modern people tend to be very indifferent towards others. They couldn’t trust others easily.

4. What are the benefits of belonging to a community?

Sample

There are plenty of them. For one thing, you can experience the sense of security. You, as part of the community, there is a whole group of people behind your back. If you come across some problems, they will help you like your friends and families. More importantly, belonging to a community can help you, with others together contribute to it, making a better community. You know, when you are actually living in a community, there are a lot of things couldn’t be done by one single person. If you are really part of it, you would really want it better.

Describe an occasion that you borrowed something from friends or family members

You should say:

What the thing was

When you borrowed it

Whom you borrowed it from

And explain why you borrowed the thing

Last year, like in December, I went to Beijing for a training and all the trainees were told to bring laptops since after the training everyone had to go through an assessment. It was only a 2-day training so I was wondering maybe I shouldn’t bring too many things with me, so I borrowed a really big backpack from my mom, as i need to bring a laptop with me. I do have a school bag but it is quite small, so the laptop couldn’t fit in. So I needed a larger one to carry heavy loads.

It is a black backpack fitted with one large pocket for the laptop and several pockets for small-sized items, it has big capacity for all the items that i need for the trip. My mom did commercial air travel a lot, so she has not only lent me the bag, but also a down jacket, since the winter in my hometown is quite warm, i haven’t worn a down jacket for years. But the winter in Beijing, it is cold and feature strong winds. So i also have borrowed a down jacket to keep me warm.

I thought I had made a good decision to have the backpack as carry-on bag for airplane travel. Because on one hand, i had more of my possessions at hand during the flight, and i have skipped the very time-consuming baggage claim process, and have avoided the risk of having the checked baggage lost or damaged. So i have spent less time on checking in the luggage and waiting in the line.

After the 2-day training, we flew back home, we arrived at Kunming international airport at 1 am, some of my friends had to wait for the luggage claim for another 30 mins, however i had already hopped on a taxi and left. So i thought a backpack, or any form of hand luggage really saved people time and energy for air travel. So it was a time I have borrowed a bag from my mom and it was really useful.

1. Are you interested in robots?

误区:注意不要直接重复题目,所以不能直接回答‘yes I’m interested in robots’或者‘no I’m not interested in robots’;注意换词

语料:

Not particularly不

my kind of thing我喜欢的类型

science-fiction films科幻片

science museum科技馆

find… attractive觉得……

related to… 和……有关联

other than that除此之外

范例:

Not particularly. I mean I’ve probably only seen them in some science-fiction films. Other than that, I don’t really feel related to it in any way. Plus, I’ve never found them attractive or anything.

2. Do you want to have robots in your home?

误区:注意不要完全重复题目的用词,避免直接回答‘yes I want to have robots in my home’或者‘no I don’t want to have robots in my home’.

语料:

Not necessarily

I reckon

Give me a hand

tidy up my room整体我的房间

make my bed铺床

Robotic Vacuums

it’s gonna be good这会很好

that would be nice那会很棒

have a hard time doing…

help me out帮助我

struggle with…

Not necessarily, but I reckon it would be nice if I could have a robot nanny indoors who is always ready to give me a hand tidying up my room and even making my bed. Plus, it would be a bonus if she could also help me out whenever I’m struggling with my school assignments.

3. Do you want to take a car which robot is the driver?

a driverless car = self-driving car= robotic car无人驾驶车

autonomous technology

have a go at it试一下

at least give it a try至少试一下

increase the chances of a crash

take control控制

in an emergency在紧急情况下

范例:

Definitely not! I guess that’s the last thing I would wanna do. You might not know this, but I’ve heard a rumour that there have been quite a few accidents involving a self-driving car. To be fair, I don’t wanna risk my life or probably it’s just that I feel like I can’t trust a machine. Plus, I’ve got my own driving license, so I’d rather drive around myself.
