Last year，before the summer vocation my parents decided to go travelling to Sichuan during my summer vocation. We all wanted to go to JiuZhaigou very much, which was famous for the beautiful autumn scenery. Hot pot would be definitely the first thing we ate in Sichuan, I guess nobody could resist the temptation of it. Someone told me Sichuan ,especially the capital city Chengdu was full of beautiful and interesting ladies ,I would like to find out whether that was true or not. We all looked forward to the journey.

However, before we set off , we had a long discussion ,you even could call it “battle” about how we should go to Sichuan . Mum believed package tour would be easier, the travel agency would be responsible for everything, transportation, ticket, hotel, and our luggage. Dad hold another opinion ,he persisted in self-driving, he didn’t like guided tour, because there were so many reports about tour guide forcing the tourists to purchase recently, he thought this behavior from tour guide would destroy our holiday, mum couldn't deny this, so she surrendered. Actually I was happy that mum gave up.

We drove to hunan province first, went to the well-known mountain zhangjiajie. We planned to stay there for 2 days, but in the hotel we lived, we met another family who was also in a self-driving tour. Mum loved that family, so we changed our plan. We were there for 4 days in the end, then we went to Sichuan together.

When seeing beautiful scenery, we always parked our car beside the road, took photos, had a rest. We totally threw ourselves behind our plan which had been changed again and again, but everybody was happy, nobody minded we had to make a new plan all the time. At that moment, mum had to accept that self-driving was the best decision we made. We had experienced the best journey.

Hospital is that one place where no one would like to visit. I personally hate going to the doctor’s. But I had to visit one recently. Due to frequent travelling to varied altitudes and atmosphere, I got home having terrible cold and viral infection. It was accompanied by heavy head, continuous sneezing and a runny nose which left me in moderate discomfort.

医院是一个没有人愿意去的地方。我个人不喜欢去看医生。但我最近不得不去看病了。由于频繁奔波在不同高度的地方，等我回到家就感冒并且病毒感染。伴随着沉重的，不停的打喷嚏和流鼻涕，这让我感到很不舒服。

I felt too sick and in pain. Due to the ever-growing headache I couldn’t concentrate on any thing and found it impossible to do even the smallest everyday task. My head felt like it weighed a ton and I could barely keep my eyes open due to the developing stress. After no more resistance, I decided that I need to visit the doctor’s.

我感觉头很晕，浑身疼。由于头痛加剧，我无法集中精力做任何事情，甚至连最小的日常任务都不可能完成。我感觉头有千斤重，由于眼压不断增加，我几乎睁不开眼睛。没办法的情况下，我决定去看医生。

The doctor checked me and asked me how I was feeling. He checked my pulse and my body temperature. He asked me to open my mouth, take my tongue out and checked it subsequently for any possible infections and if there are any possible symptoms of typhoid. He further checked my blood pressure and concluded that I have developed intense allergy infections probably due to the temperature changes and dust inhaled during the travels. He prescribed me some medicines and a cough syrup to be taken at regular interval for 3 days. He advised me to avoid any cold food items and beverages. He also suggested that I drink turmeric milk and ginger lemon honey tea for instant healing. He asked me to take plenty of rest and avoid going out in the dirt. The suggestions were useful and my health improved significantly in a couple of days.

I made a simple kite for my son during the last National Day. Since I’d never made a kite before, I’d thought it would be a tough task. But it turned out that making a kite was actually just a piece of cake.

在最后的国庆节，我为我的儿子做了一个简单的风筝。因为我以前从来没有做过风筝，所以我认为这将是一项艰巨的任务。但事实证明，制作风筝实际上只是一块蛋糕。

I decided on its shape first. I just chose a flat one because it was virtually the most basic structure and could be easily carried around. Then I got a sheet of coloured paper and cut out the shape.

我先决定了它的形状。我只是选择了一个扁平的，因为它实际上是最基本的结构，很容易携带。然后我拿了一张彩色的纸，把它的形状剪掉了。

My son got thin plastic strips for me. I tied them together with a string, which apparently would be the frame of the kite. After that, we made the bridle which connected the frame to the control line. Finally I glued the paper to the frame.

It seemed to be an arduous work as it took me a whole afternoon to finish it but finally it turned out to be quite rewardful. The kite flew pretty well in the garden the next day. Our hard work paid off. I chose a hand work as a gift because I reckoned it more precious for my son than the toys bought in the shops. Besides, doing a hand work offered me and my son an opportunity to experience the simple pleasures of life.
