I prefer buying items mainly from the internet for the following reasons. First of all, it’s so convenient to shop online. For example, I can shop for everything I need right in front of my computer no matter snacks or electronics. And the best part is what I buy get delivered right to my door step. Second, it’s very easy to find the lowest price online. It used to be the case that I have to drive around the city to visit two or three retailers to compare prices which is very time consuming. But when shopping online, I can compare prices from hundreds sellers with a click of mouse.

I prefer to buy things on the Internet rather than do shopping in a store. Firstly, it’s very easy to find things on Internet. You just have to input the key words into search engine on a web store, the results will be listed on the screen immediately. Then you pick the one you need and use credit card to pay the item. After a few days or so, the item will be delivered directly to your house or apartment. Secondly, Internet has more items than does store. Many times I walk in a bookstore and walk out without the book I want. But I never meet the problem buying books online. I can either buy books from Web bookstores such as Amazon or buy second-handed books from individuals. So, these are the reasons why I choose to buy items on the Internet.

Using the examples from the lecture, explain two ways the railroad system changed business in the United States.

部分原文：

Ok, so we’ve been talking about various factors that have changed the United States’ economy. One especially important factor is the development of railroads. When the railroad system expended to almost the US, it fundamentally changed the way business perform in this country.

For one thing, it expanded and the railroad enable companies to start selling their goods to all of the country. Since trains could now transport merchandise all over US, companies could now sell good to customers pretty much anywhere of the country.

For example. There was a big company that sold quartz. The company started in a big city. And before the development of railroad, the company could only sell its quartz to people living in or near the city. But when the railroad expanded, the company could load their quartz on trains and have it delivered to all parts of the country.

标题：Ambiguity effect

定义：倾向于选择已知获胜概率的选项。即便获胜概率很低。不会选择风险未知的选项。

听力例子：教授自己的经历：可以选择自己的小镇网球赛和另一个小镇的网球赛。教授知道自己小镇上很多厉害的选手，很可能会输。但是对另一个小镇一无所知，不敢选择。

最后没拿到好名次。后悔自己当初没有冒险。

Task 5

问题：几天的假期，学生需要完成一个英文课的论文。

解决方案1：留在学校。

优点1：更多时间写论文。

缺点1：假期不回家，家人会失望。

解决方案2：把作业拿回家写。

优点2：可以见家人。
