Well, frankly, people get disappointed since we all have expectation for our friends. I usually use my emotional intelligence to analyze the situation, and solve the conflict accordingly. For example, I once argued about which movie to watch with my friend, and I wanted to watch action movie, however, my friend preferred comedy. After that, I get angry and really disappointed, but later, I realized the real cause of my anger was not about which movie to watch, and the real cause was that I have lots assignment due next week, and I couldn't stand that pressure, so I apologized to my friend, and we are still friends now.

Well, I think it is a good idea to require students to do some volunteer work. I disagree, it’s not necessarily the case. First, there’re many definitions for success. To be successful is to lead a life that you intend to and enjoy, not a life necessarily with a lot of money. Say I feel that my mom is quite successful because she lives a happy life, but she obviously doesn’t have any enemies. And even for the people who are successful in career and with high social status, the effort they’ve spent along the way could be quite legitimate that wouldn’t have induced any serious conflict with others’ interests. Sure there must have been competition, but competition is common in any aspect of life which doesn’t always bring out hostile feelings. So basically I think the statement stands without solid ground.
