The man’s problem is that it’s the end of the semester and he needs to rewrite the lab report for his biology class. He has two choices to either stay on campus to revise his report and get his grade now or take an incomplete in the class and submit the paper next semester. I think he should submit the report when he returns in the fall semester. He can take his time and use the whole summer holiday to write the paper. If he needs additional materials, he can always find them on the Internet. Also, by choosing this way he doesn’t have to stay on campus and miss the family reunion this weekend.

托福口语Task5解析与技巧

一、Task 5考什么

从某种程度上来说，Task 5是综合型题目里比较好拿分数的一个部分。新托福口语考试第五题属于校园场景，要求考生就大学生遇到的问题提出解决方法。在这个部分中，考生将听到一段发生于两名学生，或者学生与教授，或学生与在校职工之间的对话，时长约为60-90秒，没有阅读内容。在对话中，通常涉及其中一位学生遇到的问题，两人会就此问题进行讨论，进而得出两个解决方法，但是有问题的那一方没有办法确定哪一种解决方案比较有效。

和第三题一样，对话双方为一男一女。考生要准确把握男女双方究竟谁遇到了麻烦。有时，遇到麻烦的学生会倾听另一名学生提出的两种解决办法。也有些时候，遇到问题的学生会自己想出两种解决办法，另一人给出反馈。但是不管是哪种情形，考生都将听到两种解决问题的办法及其各自的利弊。

对话结束后，考生将听到一个问题，该问题同时也会出现在电脑屏幕上。题目通常会要求考生简要总结问题并快速列举出两种解决办法。而不同于综合型题目中的其他三个完全复述的题目，第五题口语题是唯一一道需要考生提供自己观点的部分，因此，题目要求中还需要考生选择自己认为比较好的一种解决方法并就自己的选择给出原因。由于从第五题开始考题中没有了阅读部分，考生的准备时间从前面的30秒减少到20秒，答题时间依旧为60秒。而第五题的提问形式也是大同小异的，常见问法如下：

1. The students discuss two possible solutions to the woman’s problem. Describe the problem. Then state which of the two solutions you prefer and explain why.

2. Briefly summarize the problem the speakers are discussing. Then say which solution you would recommend. Explain the reasons for your recommendation.

不难看出，所有问题模式的目的都是一致的：要求考生总结听力里的问题及解决方案，但是都需要考生做出自己的选择并给出做此选择的原因。考生需时刻谨记，口语的第五题是需要有自己的选择的，不要在总结完听力内容后就此打住。

二、Task 5评分标准

和第三题一样，第五题会按照综合型题目评分准则评分。评分时主要考虑考生的语言表达能力、语言运用能力和话题展开能力三个方面。考生回答时必须“涵盖题目要求提供的相关信息”。如果给出的信息不完整或有错误，那么，即使语言流利、语法正确，也会被扣分。

第五题讨论的话题也很好理解，话题背景也都是校园生活。要拿到高分，考生仅需要理解对话内容，然后对该内容进行简要总结，选出自己觉得最好的解决方法并给出一个清晰易懂、有理有据的解释。

怎样应对托福口语task5

1、巧用连接词和说话者语气，找到问题

在托福口语考试中，一般情况下，对话中的一男一女会从简单的一句招呼开始，然后立即移动到话题上来。但有时男生或女生的问题并不会马上就出来，而是在一番背景介绍之后给出，但是很多同学往往会错误的认为这些背景介绍就是‘问题’所在。其实在听听力的时候，我们通过辨别他们说话的语气就可以分辨出哪些是背景，哪些是问题。因为当主人公在陈述自己遇到的问题的时候，往往会夹带着困惑、疲倦、无奈或生气的语气，他【她】的语气绝不会是平平的。

除此之外，连接词也可以帮你辨别‘问题’在哪。在这个题目中，最常出现的转折词就是but, 这之后绝对是主人公的问题所在。

就TPO5来说，当女生用沮丧的语气说出Hi Mark. Uh, I’m OK, I guess, but my schoolwork is really stressing me out.我们基本上就可以断定这句话就是女生在陈述自己遇到的问题了。

2、用笔记摘录两个解决方案并表明态度

接下来的对话中一般会出现一个人对另一个人的问题提出的两种建议，这两种建议各有优劣，并不是十全十美的。考生在听了这两个人的建议之后，要选择一方。在听到这部分的时候，建议考生用笔记摘录下答题要点。考生可以使用一些速记符号以免自己因为书写而跑神，而且不要试图记下原文，记笔记的内容应当是记录重点或关键词，否则会漏听。此外，考生在做笔记时参照一下分好角色的格式，如：男和女，或教授和学生，或人名，这会让你的记录更加有条理，也方便你在陈述时提取一些重要信息。

比如在这个题目中，男生非常热心地提出两种解决方案：一是建议女生向导师讲明原因，适当延长论文或研究数学问题的期限;二是建议女生自己拟定一个短期的工作计划表，把每天的时间作适当的划分，不同的时间段集中解决不同的问题，做到有条不紊，持之以恒即可。假如更偏向第二种办法，便可以在笔记中用上面提到的句型对该办法作出肯定：I think it would be better if the woman prepared a schedule.

3、用自己的经历说明原因

在描述选择该办法的原因时，考生可以利用对话中所提到的信息，也可以采用自己的经历。因为Task 5的内容大都和大学的校园生活息息相关，所以许多考生都可能会遇到自己很熟悉的甚至有过类似经历的问题，这时考生大可以结合自己的亲身经历去阐述。

以此题为例，比如选择第二种办法的原因可以是：The problem of too much work to do is something that the woman is going to confront in the future as well, and if she learns how to organize a schedule now, this will help her throughout her academic career. 另外考生还可以从两个方面着手对原因作出解释：一是如上正面说明自己所选办法的好处;二是用自己的实际经历来概括另一解决办法的不足之处。以此题为例，可以说另一种办法有disadvantage：Even though her professors might be willing to give her an extension, they might somehow penalize her for it by grading her assignments more severely. 这样有了思路和内容，阐述起理由来就更连贯，更顺畅了。

最后要提醒考生们的是，对于解决办法的选择并没有对错之分，评分的标准不在于考生最后选择了哪种办法，而在于考生是否能恰当充分地阐明自己所作选择的理由。在谈到与自身经历相关的理由时也要随时注意问题的焦点是在解决对话者的问题，自己的经验只能加以借鉴后转化成自己的想法，而并不是由此便谈成自己面临的状况了!
