连词和介词的区别

随着科技的进步”、“随着社会的发展”，这样的句子在作文中很常见，而且很有可能出现在文章的开头。但是，以下的句子是错误的：

As the development of science and technology ...

而以下的两句话是正确的：

With the development of science and technology ...

As science and technology develop ...

在这里，with和as有什么区别呢?这个和词性有关，with是介词，而介词后面跟名词【组】;as是连词，而连词后面跟句子。这就解释了为什么because后面跟句子，而because of后面跟名词【组】。有人可能提出疑问，为什么as a student这种表达方式是对的，as后面不是跟句子么?在这里，as表示“作为”，是介词;而as做连词的时候，有“随着”、“当”、“像”、“因为”等意思。

类似的，though和despite也是这个区别，前者是连词，而后者是介词。同理，以下两句话都是对的：

Many people do not like bus, because / as / since / for it is slow and crowded.

Many people do not like bus, because of / due to / owing to / for its slow speed and crowdedness.

很明显可以看出，because / as / since是连词，连词后面跟句子;because of / due to / owing to是介词，介词后面跟名词【组】;for表示“因为”的时候既可以做连词也可以做介词。
